Well-attended information meeting in Asia House
Last Tuesday, a good number of representatives from private companies, governmental and local authorities attended an information meeting on the Danish EXPO 2010 participation.
In the historic former EAC headquarters, Asia House, in the Freeport of Copenhagen, Danish business and public authorities met to discuss how the Danish EXPO 2010 participation could benefit the common good.
Finn Lauritzen, director general of the Danish Enterprise and Construction Authority, hosted the meeting and underlined that the Danish EXPO Shanghai investment of DKK 150 million is the largest ever in Danish EXPO history.
“EXPO Shanghai 2010 provides a golden opportunity for Denmark and Danish companies to showcase Danish competencies and provide a comprehensive view of Danish potential at the increasingly important and growing Chinese market, and to strengthen our ties with China.
The composition of the national committee and the size of the budget reflect the importance the Danish Government attaches to our participation and to the opportunity to brand Denmark in a truly global setting,” Finn Lauritzen said.
Hugo Gaarden, Shanghai correspondent of the Danish business daily Borsen, gave a situation report on China seen in the light of the current financial crisis, and cultural coordinator Lars Hannibal revealed the preliminary programme for the cultural cornucopia planned for Denmark Day on 29 June 2010.
Finally John Hansen, project manager of the EXPO Secretariat, gave a thorough presentation of the Danish pavilion and exhibition Welfairytales and introduced the participants to the benefits of being partner in the EXPO project.
