Recruiting goodwill ambassadors

The recruitment of trainees for the Danish pavilion and for Odense’s exhibition at the ‘Urban Best Practice Area’ in Shanghai has started. The EXPO Secretariat intends to hire approx. 30 trainees for the national pavilion, and Odense another 10 trainees. So far, interest has been considerable.

With an expected three million guests visiting the Danish pavilion during the six EXPO months, there will be a great need for competent and service-minded personnel. Therefore, the Danish EXPO Secretariat has now started the recruitment of approx. 30 Mandarin-speaking students with good knowledge of Danish society, economics and culture. Another 10 students will be recruited for Odense’s exhibition ‘The Revival of the Bicycle’ at the ‘Urban Best Practice Area’.

The job as a trainee has an educational purpose, with the practical experience from EXPO 2010 Shanghai contributing to the degrees of each student. Among other things, the trainee tasks include assisting in the daily operations of the pavilion, welcoming guests, guiding them through the pavilion and assisting in the planning and implementation of cultural events.

The Danish pavilion and the Odense exhibition will be staffed from 15 April till 5 November 2010. Applications for trainee jobs should be submitted no later than on 31 July 2009.
