Pavilion building in progress
The building of the Danish pavilion at the EXPO exhibition area in Shanghai is proceeding on time. The concreting of the basement storey has now been completed, and the pavilion’s steel units are on the way to be fully assembled on location.
A tall steel construction towers the building site where the Danish pavilion is soon to be seen. The steel tower houses the central lift that will take visitors from one storey to another once Shanghai opens the doors to EXPO next year.
The basement storey is already completed, and the steel units that will eventually make up the pavilion above ground are in production at the steel plant MCC, which is an hour’s drive by lorry from Shanghai.
According to John Hansen, project manager, the Danish EXPO Secretariat, all deadlines seem to be met with everything right on schedule.
The steel units will be assembled and equipped with electrical installations, floors, walls, and sanitary facilities in a continuing flow on the building site. The pavilion is set to be ready for a midway presentation at the end of November when a Danish delegation visits Shanghai.
