Goals and Visions

World Exhibitions are global non-commercial exhibitions on a large scale. They are international meeting places with a focus on intercultural dialogue, strengthening of international relations and the exchange of solutions to global challenges. Furthermore, they contribute to the branding of cities, regions and countries.

World Exhibitions are international showcases, in which the participating countries present themselves and show the most recent development and experience in technology, science, culture etc. in relation to the theme of the exhibition.

Danish EXPO participation is an important element in the global marketing of Denmark and the Danish contribution must communicate Danish capabilities in the best possible way, focusing on Danish strengths within the theme of the exhibition. In this way, the knowledge of Denmark should be increased and its position as an exciting, innovative and forward-thinking nation strengthened towards local decision makers, international and local media, as well as the local public.

Through membership of the UN, WTO, UNESCO, NATO, EU, participation in Nordic and other international collaboration, as well as providing a considerable amount of development aid Denmark sees itself as a nation actively taking part in the global community. An important element of this self-perception is Denmark's participation in world exhibitions, as it contributes to the global intercultural understanding.

Due to the significant number of visitors, Danish participation in an EXPO will offer an opportunity to increase tourism and broaden the knowledge of Danish culture.
