The Uniform Collection

In connection with the exhibition, a competition was organised for the design of a collection for leaders, guides and staff from the shop and café. The collection was to support the general concept of the pavilion, Welfairytales.

As point of departure designers May-Britt Gram and Hanne Larsen takes the architectural shape of the pavilion, and with reference to The Little Mermaid and Danish bicycle culture, a fragment of a bicycle wheel is used throughout the collection as a significant, recurring symbol. The colour red is used as a symbol of the traditional Chinese and Danish, and the requirement of sustainability is met by using intelligent bio-textiles.
