Collection EXPO 2010
The design competition aimed to create a collection for management, guides, cafe and shop staff´.
The collection underlines the overall concept of the pavilion – “Welfairytales”, which is a holistic story about Denmark’s unique strengths, told with a point of departure in the shared aspects of China and Denmark.
May-Britt Gram and Hanne Larsen’s point of departure is the architectural shape of the EXPO-pavilion with references to The Little Mermaid. Also the fact that so many Danes bike is shown in the design as a fragment of a bike wheel is used as a significant symbol that reappears throughout the collection.
The colour red is used as a symbol of the traditional colour in both China and Denmark, and the requirement of sustainability is fulfilled by using organic and intelligent textiles.
