China pavilion sprouting up

At the EXPO site in Shanghai, the construction of the Chinese pavilion is already well under way. When finished, “The Crown of the East” will be three times taller than any other EXPO pavilion.

China is a first-mover at the EXPO site in Shanghai. The concrete support structure of the Chinese pavilion has already been finished by the more than 1,200 workers who have been involved in the construction for a year. China’s pavilion is called “The Crown of the East” and designed to reach a height of 70 metres when completed. This means that it will be three times taller than any other EXPO pavilion in Shanghai.

“The Crown of the East”, which will feature a traditional Chinese red roof, is scheduled to be completed by September 2009.
