Carlsberg beer has been sold in China for over 130 years. In 1876, Carlsberg was first exported to China. The first brewery to supply Greater China market was established in 1981. As a keen supporter
of Central Government's "Go West" policy, Carlsberg expanded its investment in West China from 2003 & acquired market dominant breweries in the region.
Today, Carlsberg has invested in 19 breweries from 6 brewery groups in China with over 10,000 employees and is currently the market leader in West China.
Carlsberg brews & distributes many different local and international brands in Greater China, including its flagship brand, Carlsberg.
In 2004 & 2009, brand extension Carlsberg Chill and Carlsberg Light were launched respectively in China to cater the unique taste preferences of Chinese consumers and have been well-received.
In West China, leading local brands of the region are brewed & distributed, including, Dali, Wind Flower Snow Moon, Xixia, Wusu, Xinkiang, Huanghe, Lhasa, Shancheng, Chongqing, etc.
In Hong Kong, Carlsberg distributes a wide portfolio of alcoholic drinks including beer, red & white wine, shandy, and cider.
